Tali Shalom Ezer

Director and Screenwriter. Born in 1978, living in Tel Aviv. A graduate of the Film and Television Department at Tel Aviv University. A graduate of the prestigious Binger Film Lab screenwriting development lab in Amsterdam (2009-2010). Lecturer in Film, teaches courses on working with actors in the Film and Television Department at Tel Aviv University.

Her first feature film, Princess, won the Best Film Award at the 2014 Jerusalem Film Festival, along with the Best Actress Award (Shira Haas), Best Cinematography Award (Radek Vodick), and Best Music Award (Ishay Adler).

Princess was part of the official competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

The script for Princess was accepted into the coproduction market at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival as part of the “Talent Market Project” and won the prestigious “Talent Highlight Pitch Award.”

2024 – Director of all episodes of the large-scale television series The Tattooist of Auschwitz for the British Sky network (“Chernobyl”) and the American Peacock network. Starring Academy Award-winning actor Harvey Keitel and Emmy-winning actress Melanie Lynskey, with the soundtrack composed by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer. The series was nominated for two Emmy Awards.

2019-2020 – Creator, Director, and Script Editor of Ruth and Naomi (scheduled to shoot in October 2020), a series for the “Kan 11” broadcasting corporation. Created and written by Daniela London Dekel. Produced by Shula Spiegel and Dana Eden.

2019-2020 – Creator of the mini-series Stories from a Hometown, an international anthology series filmed in four different countries (coming-of-age stories), produced by Fremantle International.

2018 – Director and Script Editor of The Psychologist for the “Kan 11” broadcasting corporation, starring Keren Mor, Menahem Noy, Rotem Sela, and others.

2017 – Directed the film My Days Of Merci (USA, 102 min), an American production starring Ellen Page (Juno) and Kate Mara (House of Cards). Premiered in the official competition at the Toronto Film Festival and screened at numerous international festivals.

Surrogate (fictional, 58 min, 2009) – Winner of the “Best Fiction Film” award at the International Women’s Film Festival in Rehovot, 2009. Awarded an honorary mention at the Women’s Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2010. Participated in many international festivals including: Jerusalem Film Festival 2008, Edinburgh Film Festival 2009, New York Film Festival 2009, Hamptons Film Festival, San Francisco Film Festival 2009, Mill Valley Film Festival, Budapest Film Festival 2010, Titanic, and more.

Living Room (fictional, 20 min, 2006) – Participated in Cannes Film Festival 2006, Jerusalem Film Festival 2006, Haifa Film Festival, and others. Aired in the drama segment on Channel 1.

One Summer at Abarbanel (documentary, 60 min, 2005) – Won second place at the Docaviv Film Festival in the student films competition, 2005. Participated in the Singapore Film Festival 2005. Broadcasted on Channel 8.

Worked on developing television series for producer Dekel Barkai (“Abot Barkai”).

Lecturer at the Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts (feature film production track), Lecturer at the Israeli Film Fund (feature film production and development track), served as a judge at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2011 in the narrative film competition, judge at the International Student Film Festival 2014, judge at the Mooov Film Festival, Belgium. Lecturer at the Jerusalem Film Festival in the drama and short film competition, and Lecturer at the Rehovot Women’s Film Festival, among others.
