Amital Stern

Amital Stern is a screenwriter, playwright, author, and translator.

She is a graduate of the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the Hebrew University. She co-wrote the feature film Dead Language which premiered at Tribeca and won Best Screenplay at the Jerusalem Film Festival. She also co-wrote the feature film The Etruscan Smile.

Her plays, including Hunger Artist and Aliza have been staged at Theatronetto, Jaffa Theater, the Jerusalem Fringe Festival, and additional venues..

Her essays have been published in Guernica magazine and Best American Experimental Writing. She has also worked for over a decade as a Hebrew-to-English translator for film and television, collaborating with leading film and television creators, and production companies in Israel and abroad.
