Born in 1987 and raised in Jerusalem. Sharon Engelhardt is an honors graduate of the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School. She works as a director, screenwriter, script editor, and reader for various film funds. Her short films have been screened at numerous international film festivals, including Cannes, Sarajevo, Jerusalem, and others.

Because You’re Ugly – Debut feature film. An Israeli–Canadian–French co production supported by the Israel Film Fund, Gesher Multicultural Film Fund, Telefilm Canada, and Mifal HaPais.
The screenplay participated in The Residence of the Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival, the Moulin d’Andé residency of the CNC, and the international Oxbelly Lab founded by Athina Rachel Tsangari (Attenberg, Chevalier). The final stages of development were mentored by Maren Ade (Toni Erdmann).
The project was presented at the Cinelink and Agora co production markets and at Gotham Week. It is also the first Israeli film to receive official sponsorship from ARRI.
The film premiered at the Jerusalem Film Festival, where it won Best Acting Award, and was nominated for seven Ophir Awards, winning Best Supporting Actress and Best Casting.
Winner of Best Israeli Debut Film at the Cinema South Festival.
I Hate You in My Heart – Feature screenplay in development. Supported by the Israel Film Fund’s Berlin residency grant, Media Brandenburg, and a development grant from the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation. Currently in financing stages.
