Eti Tsicko

Eti Tsicko, Born in Ashkelon in 1982, to immigrant parents from Georgia.  Eti is a graduate of The Steve Tisch School of Film & Television at Tel Aviv University.

Her short films “Daswarilli” (Stained) and “Audition” have been screened in festivals in Israel and all over the world. “Resen” (Dog Leash), her graduation short Film was selected to the Cinefondation official Competition of Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

In 2013, she participated in “Berlin 24/7”- a 3 months residency in Berlin, funded by The Israeli Film Fund & Brandenburg Film Fund, Germany- for the development of her first Feature Film “As If You Were Never Here” (working title) and the Jerusalem and Haifa pitch point. In 2014, Eti received a development grant from the Israeli Film Fund and in 2018 received the Ronit Elkabetz production fund grant and joined “Lama Films”.

In addition, Eti won a development grant from the New Israeli Fund for Cinema and Television and a production grant from Keren Makor for the script of the independent short “Ruso”. The film participated in the Jerusalem Festival, won the promising director prize at the Tel Aviv Student Festival and was nominated for the Ophir Awards in the short film category. Eti also received a production grant for a short documentary called “Sour Strawberry” as part of a unique project for the Corona period called “Closed Views” from the New Israeli Fund for Cinema and Television.

At the beginning of 2020, the script “As if you were never here” received a production grant for a debut film from the Israel Cinema Fund, and after receiving a production grant from Italy and Georgia – the film was launched as an Israeli-Georgian-Italian co-production and was filmed in the spring of 2023 in Georgia. In 2024, the film changed its name to “Nandauri”, it is currently in its post-production stage, and will be released in summer 2025. The film won the Focusfox post-production Award in Sofia meetings in Bulgaria 2022, participated at the work in progress of the Jerusalem Festival 2023, won first place “work in progress” award of the Sarajevo Festival 2023, received the Weil Bloch Foundation Jury Award for 2023 and won the postproduction award at the Haifa film festival in 2024.

Today, Eti is working on the development of her second feature “Mother Tongue” which will also be filmed in Georgia and on the development of her TV series “Curse”, in addition to being a lecturer in film directing, script and acting at the Tisch film school at Tel Aviv University.
