Yael Hersonski

Ms. Hersonski is currently working on her second full-length documentary, “An Invisible Frame” (sponsored by Channel 8 and the New Film Fund), produced by Itay Kan-Tor, and is also editing a pilot episode for a comedy series directed by Eitan Zur (Haburganim, the Cameri Five).

• 2015 – 2016: Ms. Hersonski edited the feature “Passing Through the Wall”, directed by Rama Burstein (director of “Filling the Void”) and produced by Norma Productions (winner of 3 Ophir Awards in 2016).
• 2015: Directed and edited the short film “A Look Outwards” for the StoryVid Project initiated by Etgar Keret and Dov Alfon.
• 2014 – 2015: Edited the feature “A Very Quiet Heart” directed by Eitan Aner and produced by Green Productions.
• 2014: Edited the series “Mother’s Day”, Channel 2, directed by Eitan Zur
• 2013: Edited the series “A Million Reasons for Happiness”, Channel 2, directed by Ophir Babayoff
• 2012: Edited episodes in the comedy series “The Office”, Season 2, YES
• 2011 – 2012: Content editor, on docu-drama “The Cursed” (Creator: Hagai Levi, produced by Liran Azmor), Channel 8 + HOT Drama
• 2010: Directed the documentary “A Film Unfinished” (89 min.), supported by YES Docu, the New Film Fund, MDR, SWR, ARTE- Germany. The film was nominated for the 2012 Emmy Awards (Best Historic Documentary) and was screened at dozens of international festivals. It won “Best Documentary” at the HotDocs Festival in Canada in 2010, as well as Best Documentary at the 2010 International Film Festival in Jerusalem. It also won the editing award at the Sundance 2010 Film Festival, the Script Award from the American Screenwriters’ Guild for Best Documentary, Silverdocs US 2010, was screened as part of the Panorama at the 2010 Berlin Festival, and aired on many television channels in Europe and the US.

• 2004 – 2005 – Content editor for award winning documentary series “Account” with Rino Zror, Channel 10
• 2003 – Graduated from Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem, summa cum laude.
• 2003: “Border Project” – graduating film, 2003, 43 minutes (in collaboration with Kobi Gal-Raday). The film participated in the official competition (Cinefondation) at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. It was also accepted to the prestigious festivals Invideo in Milan, and the Barcelona Festival of Alternative Film in Spain.
• 2002 – Edited the documentary film “Ashes” (40 min.), directed by classmate Rima Issa. The film was about the personal journey of Issa, a third generation of an Arab family exiled from their homes in 1948 – back to the village from which they were exiled. The film was screened at the 2002 DocAviv Festival.
• 2001: Directing and producing second year film – “There” – documentary, 52 min. co-production of the National Film School at Lodz, Poland, and Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem. “There” premiered at the Jerusalem International Film Festival in 2001 as part of the Wolgin Competition for Documentary Films, and later broadcast on Channel 2 by Telad.
