Matan Hermoni

Author, Translator, Editor, and Professor of Literature

Hermoni’s first novel, “Hebrew Publishing Company” received the Bernstein Award and was shortlisted for the Sapir Prize. His second novel, “Four Countries” won critical accolades and was long-listed for the Sapir Prize.
Hermoni’s translations from Yiddish, which include the poetry of Moishe-Leib Halpern and Manny Leib, as well as the stories of Bashevis Singer and Moishe Nadir, have appeared on various platforms such as the magazines Oh! And Davka. They were also included in the book “America: The New World in Yiddish and Hebrew”, which Hermoni edited.
Mr. Hermoni is a regular contributor to Ha’aretz’s literary supplement, and lectures on Literature and Creative Writing at the Open University and Sapir College.
A new novel and a children’s book are pending for publication in 2016 by Keter.
